Congrats to Body Glove Team Rider Tatiana Weston-Webb On Her First WSL Event as a WCT rookie

Congrats to Body Glove team rider Tatiana Weston-Webb who advanced to the semifinals of the Roxy Pro at Snapper Rocks during her first WSL event as an official World Championship Tour competitor.

The only female rookie on tour, the eighteen-year-old from Kauai made it through to the semifinals before losing to reigning six-time WSL Champion Stephanie Gilmore in the finals. Gilmore faced Carissa Moore of Hawaii, who went on to win the entire event. As a rookie, however, just getting to the finals, was a victory for Tatiana in itself.

“It felt like today was all a dream,” said Tatiana. “I am beyond stoked to have received an equal third today against the best female surfer in the world. I felt like I performed great throughout the event, and I’m still pinching myself! I’m so happy!”

Last year, Tatiana was able to compete in three WCT events. She placed 9th in all three events. “When we first met Tati, we knew she was destined for big things to come,” said Body Glove Surf Marketing Manager, Cheyne Magnusson. “She is incredibly talented and a fierce competitor. I can’t wait to see what the future holds for her.”
