Huntington Beach, CALIF. (July 31, 2018) – The Vans Joel Tudor Duct Tape Invitational longboarding series returns to Surf City, Huntington Beach, CA as part of the Vans US Open to debut the first-ever all-women’s Duct Tape competition on August 2-5. At the helm of this historic debut, former longboarding world champion and surfing icon Joel Tudor, invites 16 of the world’s most creative female longboarders to showcase their style and innovation on the famed shores of Surf City, USA.
Hosted in partnership with the largest action sports festival in the world, the Vans US Open of Surfing, the 16th edition of the Vans Joel Tudor Duct Tape Invitational will be broadcast LIVE with a 4-day window during the weeklong celebration of elite professional surfing. Dedicated longboarding pioneers and true style mavens such as former world champions Honolua Blomfield and Jen Smith, respected shaper Ashley Lloyd, icon Kassia Meador, local Karina Rozunko and more, will be in attendance, promising a diverse global field of longboarding prowess.
Strict guidelines will enforce the use of traditional, single-fin logs without modern attachments and no interference allowed. Additional points are awarded for best shared wave, encouraging surfers to ride the same wave with style and creativity.
