It was a surf-studded Saturday night at Freesurf’s 2nd Annual Manulele Awards hosted at Restaurant 604. World Champ Carissa Moore was honored as Ambassador of Aloha and also won the award for Top Female Surfer. The Moniz family claimed their share of the viewer-votes, walking away with awards for Seth’s win as Most Progressive Surfer and Kelia’s Longboard win. Kelia humbly accepted, saying XXX Eli Hanneman took home the blown-glass wave trophy for Top Junior and Keala Kennelly accepted the Big Wave Charger award on behalf of Kai Lenny who was out of town chasing a swell. Invitees including Honolua Blomfield, Kaniela Stewart, and Bettylou Sakura were all smiles and cheers as hosts Kaipo Guerrara and KHON’s Chris Latronic made it a night to remember.
