Do you have what it takes to be a Dragon Waterman? Big-wave legend and Dragon team rider Shane Dorian has set the bar high, but here’s your chance to be recognized for what you do in, on, under, and around the water.
This summer Dragon Alliance invites you to enter the Dragon Waterman Challenge for a chance to win new eyewear and an exclusive (and sizable) Shane Dorian prize pack, complete with a big-wave gun from his personal collection. Entering is easy. Snap a photo of yourself doing your waterman thing-be it surfing, diving, paddling, fishing, et. al. Post it to Instagram or Facebook and hashtag #h2ofloatable.
“Summer is about being around the water, and what better way to celebrate that than with a challenge to all of the watermen and women out there,” says Dragon Surf Marketing Manager Brian Green. “Surfing, paddling, diving, fishing, or just being out on the water, that what the Waterman Challenge is all about. And to have an icon like Shane Dorian involved is great.”
The contest window opens May 20 and will run for five straight weeks. The first winner, which will be selected by Dorian and the Dragon team, will be announced May 27. Winners will be announced every Tuesday and will score new pair of shades for the effort. But most importantly, the weekly winners will be ushered into a shoot-out where they’ll be asked to post their best images for a chance to win Dorian’s gear. Most likes wins. The Dragon Waterman Challenge champion will be announced July 11.
