The 2026 HHSAA Surfing State Championships at Ho’okipa Beach Park marked a historic milestone for Hawaii’s high school athletes. Bringing together the top talent from the OIA, ILH, BIIF, MIL, and KIF, the event showcased the incredible progression of youth surfing across the islands. From powerful shortboard maneuvers to the classic style of longboarding and the high-intensity action of bodyboarding, the tournament highlighted the depth of talent within the state’s interscholastic programs.
A special mahalo to Kim Ball for his vision and tireless work in making this event a reality. His dedication to the sport and the students has provided a vital platform for the next generation of Hawaii’s surfers to shine.
